All About Beer!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

BEER!!!!!! Yup this article is about beer. You are probably thinking what is there to know about beer right? Well that was like the only drink that they drank! Well they also had wine and fruit juice, but the main drink was beer. When they would make the drink they would do the best they can to make it the most liquid that they can. But usually it would only get to be so much liquid. They did not want to drink it that way. I mean would you really want to drink lumpy beer. You are probably laughing at the saying lumpy beer, well that's what they called it. I am off topic so lets get back to talking about beer. It was so... lumpy that they would drink it through a wooden strainer so they wouls not be drinking gross lumpy beer.

Cool Cool Facts

In a church service they would have offerings just like today. There center piece was the bread. During the time of offering they would have long long long...... time of silence. Now were you wondering what types of animals they had they are, sheep, cattle, goats, and pigs. Now that does not sound very different than our animals today. Now I don't know if you want to hear this but hear it is, they would take the blood from the animals and use it with there food. How gross is that. Today we take the fat of the foods we eat but they did not... The fat that they had was considered a luxury. Now that is just weird. On the meat that they had the legs were the best part, well that's what they thought. There pastries that they ate were shaped in spirals. They loved to drink juice. There favorite type was fruit juice. Some of the types of fruit juices were made from pomegranates, and also figs.

Do you want a filet or a pb and j?

The rich and the poor were not very different. The rich usually ate more meat because it was expensive. Does that sound like today? Well the rich would also drink more wine because it was considered more elegant. Like you know, fancier. The poor on the other hand also ate meat, but they did not have it nearly as often. the ate more fish and vegetables. They all lived off of beer and bread though. The poor ate most of the meat that they had on special occasions.

They thought bread was important!

Bread was very important to the egyptians . That was a part of their main diet. Can u belive that back then they had over 40 types of breads! Now thats alot! Some of the flavors that they used to give things some better taste were honey, garlic and onions. Sounds familar right. The most common bread that they ate was flat bread. Have you ever heard of that bread? Now about there grains. They had a large varity grains that they used to make food. Some of the things that they used grains for was to make cakes.Yum! They also used them to make pastries, and bread. What a surpise they made bread with grain. Bread was actually not the best for them. The berad was all gritty and wore away the egyptiand teeth. Ew! Now would you really want to eat that bread if it made your teeth all gritty. Well i don't know about you but i sure like to have nice and white teeth.

What do they bake things in back in there times?

Back in the days when the pyrmids were built they did not cook in the cool new shiny ovens that we have. They had something a tiny bit different. To cook there bread and all they would use clay ovens. Not only did they use those ovens they used nothing! I know weird they used a open fire thats it!

All that you will ever know about all the food they ate!

Egyptians had a basic diet of bread and beer. Sounds funny i know! The rich and the poor had about the same diet except, the rich usally drank more wine than beer because it was more elegant. Along with bread and beer they had vegetables just like us today. Most commom ones were lettuce, cabbages and cucumbers. Sounds just like pretty much so far right. They also enjoyed dessert. They would have almonds, figs, dates, grapes, and other nuts.
